Asser “Ash” Hassan

A strong voice for fairness and respect.

Candidate for Vice President

Email: ash@go481.com

Asser is running for Vice President not for a title, but to keep doing what he has always done: stand up for people, fight for fairness, and make sure every worker is heard and respected.

Born and raised in Cairo, Egypt, he served in the student union every year and represented the engineering department, pushing for equality and justice for all students. After moving to San Diego in 2010, that commitment only grew stronger.

Bio

Since coming to the United States, Asser has worked in restaurants, warehouses, retail, and as a driver while earning his master’s in Project Management from DeVry University. Ash works at Ace Parking and has been there for five years. He knows what it means to grind, to be overlooked, and to feel unheard.

He is a proud father of two daughters and a former judo athlete who believes in strength, discipline, and fighting with honor. Those values guide how he shows up at work and in the union.

Why he is running

Asser is running to continue the work he has always done: standing up for coworkers, fighting for fairness, and ensuring every member is treated with respect.

He has advocated with or without a union title, making sure voices are heard and problems are addressed. Serving as vice president is another way to keep doing that work.

Vision for the Vice President’s office

As vice president, he will keep building a union where workers are respected, informed, and empowered to speak up.

He does not ignore injustice; he faces it. He does not wait for change; he helps create it.

Day-one commitments

On day one, Asser will continue meeting coworkers where they are, listening closely, and making sure concerns reach the decision-makers who can fix them.

He will keep fighting for fair and equal treatment for everyone, using his experience to turn member concerns into action.
