Stewards & Access at Work
Overview
Members deserve quick, local help from people they know. We will place trained stewards across worksites and shifts, so support is easy to find and fast to act. Contact will be simple: talk, text, hotline, or web form, and every report will get a case number, a timeline, and clear follow-through.
Stewards will have paid training, basic tools, and a monthly huddle to share issues and coordinate fixes. When a problem needs more muscle, stewards can escalate to officers, legal, or bargaining teams without delay. The result is the same everywhere: you reach out, you get a response, and the issue moves until it’s resolved.
What we’ll do
- Coverage map & roster (Stewards Committee + Organizing; day 1–30): post names, areas, shifts, and contact info; fill gaps.
- Recruit, elect, and train stewards (Elections + Education; day 30–60): paid training, mentorship, and clear expectations.
- Simple intake & updates (Recording Sec; day 1–45): hotline + web form; 24-hour acknowledgment; weekly progress notes until closure.
- Monthly huddles (Stewards Committee; monthly): share patterns, coordinate actions, and escalate stubborn issues.
- Tools that help (Tech + Stewards; ongoing): QR posters, quick guides, and a shared tracker tied to the case log.

Shared huddles spread good tactics and reveal trends across worksites, which improves bargaining and enforcement. Clear updates show respect for members’ time.
